US lawsuits seek to seize more than $8.5m in pool power’s assets
The registered owners of two Stealth Maritime-linked tankers have launched legal and arbitration actions against Navig8 Group over the condition of the vessels as they ended their charters.
The two companies have filed lawsuits in a federal court in Delaware seeking to seize a combined $8.52m in Navig8 assets, and they have launched arbitration in London against the pool operator. The Marshall Islands-registered outfits are also threatening a court fight in the UK.
The cases focus on the 50,500-dwt Navig8 Spirit (built 2006) and the 50,100-dwt Navig8 Stealth (built 2008) on charter to London-headquartered Navig8.
